Greetings, BIC Family! I hope everyone had a wonderful summer and are looking forward to the cooler weather. As you know, we have a lot of projects planned in the next year. We have been working diligently to sign contracts, put together a working timeline and start placing deposits to vendors. Many smaller projects are under way. Painting is continuing, lights are being installed soon, and we are hoping to start the “minor” kitchen
NEW SOLUTION?
For years there have been 2 contingents….1 group wants the pool heated to a temperature that is comfortable in the winter, especially during season. The other is concerned about the expense of propane in the heating of the pool. We have a huge pool!! Th e concerns are valid…. but the expectations of a heated pool are too. We are hoping we will be able to satisfy both sides this year. We have had a new propane tank installed by Como Gas. Elliott Merrill has better buying power than BIC had on its own. So, our cost per gallon is going way down. We will also install a pool timer on the heater to go off at night and on in the morning. The temperature loss overnight has been minimal during our test runs. The new pool heater has good recovery time. The timer can be controlled if we have an extended period of cold weather. We will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments where necessary. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email JAColontrelleBIC@gmail.com or WhatsUpBIC@gmail.com.

ONE MORE THING ……
In the past, all leases were supposed to be filed with BIC along with $100 fee. The board was tasked
with approving all leases. Elliott Merrill has a simplified process. EM has an application that all
potential renters need to complete (This can be found on our web page of the EM portal). The
completed application should be sent to Elliott Merrill, ATTN: Rachel Walker, 835-20 th Pl, Vero
Beach, FL 32960 along with $100 Check made payable to Bay Island Club and the completed and signed
lease. Once EM has reviewed and found the paperwork compliant, it will be sent to the board to
approve. All leases and related paperwork will be kept on file with EM.
BIC has a minimum 2-month lease (no limit on how many 2 month leases a year per unit) and 1 – 30-day
rental allowed per year. Family/Friends/Guests of any unit owner do not need a lease if they are
using a unit. If you need a copy of the application, please send an email. If you are currently renting
your unit or have a lease coming up, please email it to Rachel Walker at RachelW@ElliottMerrill.com
*Please be sure all renters are given the most current set of Rules and Regulations.
