1981 PYI founded by Frederic Laffitte 1984 PYI moves to a building at Shilshole Marina in Seattle 1991 Now to 7 employees, PYI outgrows it’s location, moves to a larger space and becomes the Whitlock Steering US distributor
1983 Kevin Woody joins PYI
1986 PSS Shaft Seal is developed and introduced to the marine world
1999 PYI purchases it’s current 10,000 sqft building in Lynnwood, WA. The Seaview line of electronic mounting solutions is developed and manufacturing begins 2016 With the acquisition of SnoLynn Machine, PYI finally realizes a longterm goal and builds a full in-house machine shop 2019 PYI introduces Fendertex inflatable textile fenders to the US marketplace
2002 PYI launches US
distribution for Jefa Steering and Rudder after the Whitlock brand is sold to Lewmar
2018 The Seaview line is spun off to 3 employees and moves to Spokane, WA
