Awarded joint first prize in the Artists’ Suffrage League 1909 competition for the ‘best design for a poster suitable for use at election’, this is an atypical suffrage poster. Often imagery showed women with agency demanding the vote, but here the viewer is encouraged to support the female figure so she can improve her life.
