The Flotilla for Autism event will be held in Hawkesbury on Saturday, July 27, along the Ottawa River, in hopes of raising awareness for autism. People are invited to bring their boats, or other personal watercraft, and travel upstream on the Ottawa River from the mouth of the Rouge River to Ottawa and CBDL/JDPMF5BZMPS 7JDF1SFTJEFOUPG"VUJTN Ontario Ottawa Chapter, and her husband Paul Senior, who is also a volunteer with the PSHBOJ[BUJPOmCPUIGSPN)BXLFTCVSZmIBWF organized this event, in inspiration of their son, Paul Junior, who has autism. The idea is to show support for children with autism and their families. Departure of

Hawkesbury Golf & Curling Club
It was a wet day, but still a good day for the 160 golfers signed up for the 2019 Steve Barton Golf Classic Tournament, July 5, at the Hawkesbury Golf and Curling Club. Tournament founder and organizer Steve Barton, 20 years a linesman with the NHL, poses with a referee’s jersey and an autographed Ottawa Senators’ jersey, two of the items available for bid during the silent auction portion of the tournament. This year’s event raised more than $24,000 to help support the local Fusion minor hockey club program, the Higginson Tower heritage monument in Vankleek Hill, and Vankleek Hill Museum. —photo Gregg Chamberlain
