Ted Burleson out of Alton, IL, built his ’49 Mercury custom using the full frame from an ’80 Buick, Chevy Corvette LT1 power with a 700R4, steelies with Olds caps, a molded ’54 Chevy grille, a 3-inch chop, Kaiser bumpers, and House of Kolor Candy Brandywine paint.
We dig on the extra long hood that Peggy Webb from Cherokee Village, AR, slipped on her ’26 Ford coupe to accommodate the 292ci inline six. In addition to the extra 10 inches in the hood, the cab has an extra 4 inches, everything is painted Metallic
Cobalt Blue, and she rolls on Billet Specialties Salt Flat-style wheels.
We love the hot rodded survivor vibe of Gerald Hardy’s (aka Slick’s) ’50 GMC pick- up from Haughton, LA, that has the origi- nal paint (re-clear coated), a gray leather interior, a FatMan frame with AirRide, and 6-liter LS power with a 4L80E tranny.
