ness, nor fear, and without our former vices. W e made $3 a day, and have put our money in a bank at E l Paso, Texas, and we are going to see our families, which are at La Cruz, Chihuahua, Mexico. They are very poor, and must have suffered dur­ ing the revolution. Pray that God may take us safely there, and use us in His cause, and then we, there, and you here, will praise God, and if we do not meet each other in this world again we will meet in heaven.” They each bought a Bible and a hymn book, and took with them quite a number of tracts, and after prayer, Mr. Salcido went with them to the station and saw these dear brethren on their way. D u r in g t h e l a s t y e a r 31S indoor and 343 open air Gospel meetings were con­ ducted at the mission hall and the Plaza. The total attendance at the indoor meetings was 4802; and of the open air meetings 13,780. Besides , the above meetings, 96 Bible classes, 12S preaching services, 134 other meetings addressed, and 134 Sunday School classes were conducted elsewhere. Also ,61 afternoon Bible classes were con­ ducted at the mission hall. About 120,000 tracts were distributed; 26 house-to-house visits were made, and 61 hospital visits; J67 persons have professed Christ as Sav­ iour and Lord. That makes 111! persons who have professed the Lord at the mission since the work began August 1st, 1907. Five hundred and fifty-four Bibles, Testa­ ments and Gospels, as well as a consider­ able quantity of other literature, was dis­ tributed during the year. O f the above, 54 Bibles were sold. until on« day they were all together work­ ing on the aqueduct. They were working at night in one of the very dangerous tun­ nels. They were working and fearing at any time . sudden death. One day while talking together, they discussed how they might get rid of their fear of death. We found out that we had come from the same place in Mexico, they said, and that they had known us, having heard us preach the Gospel on the street. They said that they continued their work, but each day more cast down and fearful of death. One day while they were talking about their fear, they again spoke about the preaching which they had heard on the street. After a few words, Jose, one of them, said, “ One time I went to one of their meetings, and they gave me this Book (a New Testament) after they had spoken much about peace from God and that comes by faith in Jesus Christ 1 have read it without your (re­ ferring to the others) knowing anything about it.” They prayed to God while kneel­ ing with their eyes closed, and I know they were thinking about Him, and He heard them say that they were sinners who had repented ’ and turned from their sins, that they had no merits, but .that they could only give that which they had re­ ceived through the love of Christ. ' “ Oh, dear brother!” he exclaimed, with his eyes full of tears, as well as his companions, “we received forgiveness, and peace, and all that you yourself feel. Praise God, because of Christ and His Word, and because of you, we are now your brothers in Christ Jesus. W e have come,” he said, “to tell you this.
