From the General Manager's Desk A Heartfelt Thank You for an Incredible 2024
As we look back on the second half of 2024, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for your hard work, dedication, and exceptional contributions to Shangri-La and Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi. Together, we have faced challenges, celebrated milestones, and upheld the values that make us proud to be part of the Shangri-La family. Your commitment to service excellence, driving business results, and teamwork has been truly remarkable. Every department, every team, and each colleague has played an essential role in making our hotel an outstanding place for both our guests and colleagues. Reflecting on our significant milestones, we gathered for the Long Service Gala Dinner and Annual Colleagues' Party , celebrating the dedication of those who have been with us through the years. It was a proud moment to honour their contributions in making our workplace stronger and more vibrant. We also celebrated Sofra bld winning the Best Brunch Award at the Fact Dining Awards 2024 —a testament to the excellence and innovation that define our F&B and Culinary teams. Another key highlight was Shangri-La’s Leadership Transformation Workshop , where the Executive Committee and Department Heads participated in an insightful and engaging session with Gaurav Bhatkar, Director of Learning & Development (MEIA). We also celebrated Negroni Week in style, showcasing the art of mixology and bringing together renowned bartenders from around the globe. Our Mixology Center of Excellence , curated by Sanjin Dilaver, MEIA Master Mixologist and Assistant Director of F&B, offered attendees a unique opportunity to learn from a star- studded lineup featuring talent from celebrated bars such as Alquimico, The Bombay Canteen, Hope & Sesame, and SĀN YǑU. Beyond these milestones, our commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives has remained strong. From sustainability programs to community engagement, our teams have worked to make a positive impact, reinforcing our responsibility toward a better future. I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation for your unwavering passion, which truly embodies the spirit of Shangri-La. We are more than just a team—we are a family, and I am incredibly proud to work alongside each and every one of you. Let us continue to support one another as we move forward toward even greater success. Thank you once again for everything you have done. The journey ahead is filled with exciting possibilities, and I look forward to all that we will achieve together in the months to come.
