B enchmark Construc- tion Company, Inc. congratulates seven employees for winning three Mid Atlantic Builders Ex- change (MABX) Craftsman Awards at a ceremony held on Thursday, March 27, 2014. These men were recognized for their exceptional casework, soffit and concrete foundation installations in area projects in 2013. The projects were awarded in the Commercial, Healthcare and Residential categories. Fred Kurtz , project super- intendent, Mike Nace , master carpenter, and Corey Clauss and Wade Mateer , both car- penters, captured awards for

the casework and soffit instal- lations at the Applebee’s res- taurant in Lancaster, PA. This work required skillful plan- ning and teamwork to cleanly remove sections of 800 pound soffit and install new soffit and casework that brought a wel- come facelift to the restaurant. Fred Kurtz, project superin- tendent, and Brian Johnson , carpenter, were given awards for the casework installation they performed at the Bret Greenberg DVM and Associ- ates Companion Animal Clinic in Columbia, PA. This project included precisely cut casework which had to seamlessly fit the prefinished casework and shelving throughout the clinic. Construction will incorpo- rate a sustainable, single- story structure with mason- ry, metal panel, and glass façade. Expansive glass openings in the exterior will create wonderful daylight- ing into office space. Parking will be directly adjacent on 3 of 4 sides of the building for easy access. Site work
