WOOF FOR VETS
Woof for Vets at Veterans’ Week, Branson, MO Following Branson’s Veterans Week, Woof for Vets is back. We have been meeting up with friends, both old and new, and it has always been enjoyable, especially for veterans who have received a puppy from the Missouri Pet Breeders. We gave out a good deal of gifts and expressed our gratitude to the WWII and Korean veterans by presenting them with a medallion and our sincere thank you with the help of other appreciative veteran vendors. We had a great time performing at The Mansion, and while on stage, we presented four beautiful pups to four happy veterans. Nine puppies in total were granted to veterans during Veterans Week, which was an unexpectedly huge success. Greg McElhany took center stage with his Great Dane, Rose, who entertained the audience with her dance skills. In his short speech, Greg shared playful remarks about Rose’s enthusiasm and how much she met for him. Sue stayed busy practicing taking photos of the events happening on stage. She mentioned, “I don’t take many pictures, but we sure did have a good time.” Our last act left everyone in surprise. Jeremy Chamberlain, the proprietor of the Ozark Working Dog Club and the chief trainer of the Ozark Bottoms K9 Academy, LLC, has over twenty years of experience in training dogs. His areas of expertise include teaching attack skills, human supplementary protection, and guarding for Army and police attack dogs, from basic to advanced levels. During the performance, Jeremy and his well-behaved and impressive German Shepherd named Cracker subdued a man in less than a minute, four times. We extend our sincere thanks to Jeremy and Cracker. Jeremy’s canine skills are remarkable, and one of those puppies would be a great addition to any home. Lastly, we wish all of you a happy Veterans Day, and we thank you for supporting our veterans. Grateful for Your Service We at Woof for Vets would like to express our deepest appreciation to all the Missouri and Nationwide Pet Breeders who selflessly dedicate themselves to their work each day. Even though it can be costly in terms of money, sleep, time, energy, and multiple federal and state inspections. You show up for work and take exceptional care of your dogs, fulfilling your duties with unwavering dedication and generosity.
Furthermore, your efforts have made a significant impact on the lives of veterans and their loved ones by providing them with the gift of a puppy, and for that, we are truly grateful. Thank you for all that you do. In the Year of Our Lord, 2023. Congratulations are in order Congratulations to the Woof for Vets team and Missouri Pet Breeders for working together and placing 68 dogs this year with veterans. Total canine placements are now 413 since September 2016. Kudos to all Missouri pet breeders! A veteran who went to a gun show and took home a dog The veteran gentleman who received the small red/ white male Boston Terrier on Saturday had waited for and wanted one for over thirty years. He said his dad had given him a Boston Bull Terrier when he was a kid, kept him for 18 years, and felt that he could never have another one. He took one home Saturday, and he cried, his son cried, the grandkids cried, and I cried. I always cry. By: Sue A veteran’s wife wrote that their two Chihuahua boys are carefree and happy-go-lucky. The dogs play in a portable pen outside while Earl supervises and interacts with them. Earl loves holding and cuddling the dogs, which makes them even happier.
