God at His word. Please, will you Sue?” For awhile she was silent, think ing, debating; and then she said, “O.K. Leonard, I will.” Tears filled her eyes to overflowing, and then she added, “I’ll take God at His word.” I quickly reached into my hip pocket and pulled out my little New Testament, opened it to the third chapter of the Gospel of John and read verses 16 through 18. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that be lieveth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” As I read, slowly and very prayerfully, I watched her face. Suddenly I noticed a change come over it, a faint smile and then a glow which was amaz i ng . She opened her eyes and they had a new light in them, even a touch of the old sparkle. I knew she had really taken God at His word, and that she had accepted Christ as her Saviour. “Leonard,” she spoke softly, and with a note of real hope in her voice. “Yes?” I said. “Now — now I understand — and now I’m not afraid to die.” Just then the nurse came in and told me that I’d have to go because Sue needed rest. I gave Sue’s hand a gentle squeeze. She smiled cheer fully as I stooped down and kissed her on the forehead, and said, “Good night Sue. Have a good rest.” I never saw Sue again; but I am sure she understood the meaning of Galatians 6:7 after this trying experience. It is better for all of us, boys and girls, to be obedient, do good deeds and later in life we will reap good things and our lives will be much happier. So long for now, boys and girls. God bless you all lots and long, and until we meet again here in our Story Corral, remember to be good, just real good, and let’s not forget to keep on praying for one another. >

And in addition to the generous financial benefits —you have the priceless and eternal satisfaction of knowing that you have made an investment “For Christ and His Kingdom”—that you are having an active share in the training of young people' for Christian life and service.
