his fall for the first time Biola Bible College will offer an art major. Designed primarily to meet the growing need for a basic knowledge of art for Chris tian education majors, BIOLA’s art courses will be open to all students. For years the school has taught art but it wasn’t until two years ago that art emerged as a serious study. At that time the school hired Mrs. Dorothy Kindell (A.A., Colorado Woman’s College, graduate of Chap pell Art School, Denver and Th.B., M.R.E. from Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary, Ft. Worth) to head the art department. Mrs. Kindell bustled into her new job with a dedi cation that would be a joy to any artist. Her enthus iasm sparked students, many who had never painted before, to turn out some commendable work (see cover and samples on these pages).

In addition to painting Mrs. Kindell is an expert at pottery making. A life-long Baptist, art for her is a fascinating study because, as she puts it, "God created everything and when we study design in nature we are getting very close to God."
