Joshua Mejia Scientist – Sequencing Chemistry Research
Joshua Mejia is a Scientist in Sequencing Chemistry Research working on developing novel sequencing chemistries and motor enzymes on the Nanopore platform. He received a BSc In Biochemistry from the University of Portsmouth and went straight into industry form there. Starting his career as temporary Chip Research Scientist at Oxford Nanopore in late 2019 working on the sensory chips. Since then, has moved across a few areas in the company, from chip research, protein-production and finally ending up in his current position in Sequencing Chemistry Research.
Dr Ruth Moysey FRSC Director – Biologics Manufacture Programmes
Ruth Moysey is Director of Biologics Manufacture Programmes at Oxford Nanopore where she is responsible for the strategic planning for manufacturing of biological and chemistry components. She received a degree in chemistry from the University of Bath and a PhD in protein chemistry from the University of Edinburgh. Ruth started her career in the biotech industry as a research scientist developing therapeutics for autoimmune disease. After joining Oxford Nanopore in 2007 Ruth has contributed technical innovations to advance Nanopore’s sequencing technology. Ruth has worked across many areas of the business including research, development, production, manufacturing and tech transfer. In 2020 Ruth was involved in Oxford Nanopore’s rapid response to COVID19 - delivering diagnostic testing kits and Nanopore sequencing enabled mobile testing laboratories.
