As she was in need of th e money, she wondered if she could not let th e fath e r send an other rem ittance before she disclosed the news of her m arriage, as she was afraid th e money m ight be discontinued when he knew of her m arriage. The worker read the story of King Amaziah and the hundred talen ts from II Chron icles 25:5-9, emphasizing th e words, “The Lord is able to give thee much more th an th is.” The convert decided she would w rite a le tte r of confession to h er fath er rig h t away and tru s t God. Shortly after she had w ritten the let ter, th e firm where her husband is em ployed began to lay off a number of the employees. She began to pray th a t her husband m ight be kept on a t work. The Lord answered her prayer, “ exceed ing abundantly,” for her husband was not only retained by the firm, bu t pro moted. A young woman testifying to what th e Bible class had w rought in her life said, “When I went Bast th is summer, I found my sisters and some relatives in Russellism and other cults. He was given a New Testam ent and trac ts to read, finally th e Bible, and it soon be came evident th a t God was working in his heart. Gradually his prejudice was broken down and his a ttitu d e changed. He searched th e Word and became more and more impressed. He began to see his tru e standing according to th e law, and realized how far sho rt of th e glory of God he came, realizing th a t by deeds he could never be justified In God’s sight. He realized his need of a Savior and the Holy Spirit convicted him until he saw th a t Christ Jesus was th e Lamb of God who shed His blood to make atonem ent for sin. He saw th a t Mes siah' must have come and, finally, after a hard struggle, he yielded. Glory to God forever! Facing her whom he had come a sho rt while ago to tu rn away from Christ, he said “ Jesus is w ith us,” and th e two relatives— these two of th e seed of Abraham— rejoiced in the fellowship of Christ Jesus, th e ir own Messiah. Soon after, he openly confessed his faith in and acceptance of Christ. He said, “ I do believe Christ is th e Son of God, th e atonem ent for sin. I am happy now, my sins and troubles all gone. My h ea rt is as free as if you would tak e a sponge and wipe it clean.” He said fu rth e r, “ I came w ith anger, w ith the only determ ination to get my cousin away from here and now I have found th e tru th of God. Isn ’t th a t wonder fu l?” And th e cousin an sw ered ,-joy fully, “Yes, H is name shall be called Wonderful, and He is wonderful— . Glory and praise be unto Him for ever and ever.” “Not by m ight nor by power, b u t by My Spirit, saith th e Lord of Hosts.”
