IN THE SPOTLIGHT
MaryAnn focused her energy and became a Director one month after her daughter’s challenge, causing her check to leap to $425. More importantly, her daughter’s check grew too! While MaryAnn didn’t start out wanting to earn extra income, she now loves being able to take her grandkids Christmas shopping without worrying about money. “I quit my incredibly stressful job around 10 years ago and thought, ‘Who will hire someone in their early 50s?’” she says. “But I had my Melaleuca business and that took a lot of pressure off.” MaryAnn takes a relaxed approach to growing her business. She builds one-on-one, in person, and develops trust with each and every customer. “I built my business one customer at a time,” she says. “My best advice is to be
consistent and pleasantly persistent. I have been passionate about Melaleuca products for over 17 years, and I look people in the eyes when I tell them why .” Most days she can’t believe how far she’s come since early 2006—and how blessed she feels to be part of Melaleuca. MaryAnn and her husband are friends with people all over the world, they have taken trips to amazing destinations, and, most importantly, they have been able to help others lead healthier lives through Melaleuca. “The reality is that none of us is going to be here forever,” she says. “But while we’re living, we might as well be in great health.”
At age 68, MaryAnn feels better now than she did at 40. “Melaleuca supplements have made a huge difference in my health,” she says. MaryAnn enrolled with Melaleuca in January of 2006 because she wanted to help her daughter grow her business. “At the time, I wasn’t interested in making extra money,” she says. “However, my coworkers and friends started noticing a difference in my skin and energy levels, so they asked me about what I was doing different.” In the first month she started building, MaryAnn’s check was $11. Her second check was $45. “That’s when my daughter said, ‘Mom, do you really want to team up? Let’s start enrolling more seriously,’” she recalls.
