ANNUAL REPORT 2024

FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL

Dear HCA Community, It is my joy to share the 2024 Annual Report with you. Since my arrival at HCA, I have been deeply impressed by the strength of this community and the kindness extended to my family.

Wearing both hats—as Head of School and as a parent of two HCA students—has deepened my appreciation for the vibrant culture and Christ-centered mission of HCA. At HCA, we pursue excellence in academics, athletics, fine arts, STEM, and more. Yet, what sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to seeing God’s Word inform every aspect of our school life. I am grateful to serve in a place that desires both excellence and faithfulness. HCA is blessed with amazing students, supportive families, and dedicated staff, all led by a board that loves the Lord and has a clear vision for the future. The Annual Report highlights many of our accomplishments, and we have much to celebrate! At the same time, we embrace a mindset of continual improvement, using feedback and strategic planning to help us grow in our mission. Thank you for your partnership with HCA. Your prayers, time, and generosity make a lasting impact on our students and the next generation of Christian leaders. It is a privilege to lead a school so deeply committed to developing a biblical worldview and Christlike character in all we do.

In Christ,

Dr. Ben Hummel HCA Head of School Ben Hummel

Heritage Christian Academy is a ministry of Redeemer Presbyterian Church, operating under the spiritual oversight of its Session. This structure keeps HCA theologically grounded and missionally aligned with the church, while allowing the school’s leadership to carry out its day-to- day operations. The elders of Redeemer oversee the HCA Board of Directors and offer ongoing pastoral care and doctrinal accountability. This relationship provides spiritual stability and reinforces our commitment to Christ- centered education. As an extension of the local church’s mission, HCA partners with families to raise students who know, love, and serve the Lord. With a strong executive leadership team in place and a dedicated faculty and staff committed to honoring Christ, personally, I have never been more excited about the future of our school.

“Teaching in a Christ-centered school is a huge blessing to me! Sharing the love of Jesus and equipping my students with the word of God blesses them and me. I pray that when my students leave my class, they remember how much God loves them! ” Rachel Atkisson Kindergarten Teacher “The Bible tells us that we are the aroma of Christ to those around us who don’t yet know Him (2 Cor. 2:15). It is my hope that students will be able to use the knowledge of the Bible and God’s love for them as well as the Spanish they learned at HCA as they live this out.” Whitney Endres HS Spanish Teacher “What a blessing it is to walk with students as they learn to worship God through music. Watching students grow in musical skill, performance confidence, and spiritual understanding is a joy. I am so thankful for a school where I have the freedom to teach curriculum in my content area with a Christian worldview.” Heidi Wiens Elementary Music Teacher

We are deeply grateful to each one of you who has supported HCA through prayer, volunteering, and financial contributions. Your generosity directly impacts the recruitment and

retention of our teachers, the expansion of innovative programs, and the growth of our needs-based tuition assistance, enabling more families to experience a Christ-centered education at HCA. Exceeding our annual goal is a powerful testimony to the Lord’s faithfulness and your willingness to be used by Him to further our mission. Thank you! The lives of our students are being transformed through the dedication and care of our teachers, coaches, staff, and volunteers. Many of you—whether parents, grandparents, alumni, or friends— have witnessed this transformation firsthand. We are deeply honored by those who have chosen to express their gratitude by supporting HCA through giving. If the Lord is leading you to put your faith into action in the future, we would be honored to partner with you in that vision once again.
