Summer Conferences of the West’s most popular Christian conference grounds tucked away in the majestic redwoods of California’s Santa Cruz Mountains. The Grunigen cabin there is old and comfortable, in the high pine country above the redwoods. Christians the world over have rested there before the soft glow of a madrone fire on the open hearth. And each who came, went away a better person for the time of fellowship and counsel in the presence o f this humble man of God. Those who know Mount Hermon best say it was this fellowship and Spirit-directed counsel that has literally made Mount Hermon what it is today. END.

Arnold Grunigen & The loss of Arnold Grunigen Jr. on the Christian scene was being felt sorely as the summer Bible con­ ference season approached. Mr. Grunigen, who was a prominent San Francisco businessman (stocks & bonds) died last January 18 after working a full day in his office. Although he was 54 strangers usually took him for a man in his late thirties. In Christian circles he was known as one of America’s most popu­ lar lay preachers. A former chairman of Christian Bus­ iness M en ’s Committee International, Mr. Grunigen continued active in CBMC until the time of his death. But perhaps his first love was Mount Hermon, one
