The Intertribal Agriculture Council (IAC), headquartered in Billings, MT, is a resource for Native American farmers and ranchers throughout the country. Since 1987, IAC has been providing programs and developing federal opportunities that help Native American farmers and ranchers be successful. These opportunities include the following: technical assistance centers, which were established to increase Native Americans’ access to and use of USDA programs and service; conservation stewardship programs, which provide access to conservation planning, technical assistance, management resources, and useful land stewardship tools; and an American Indians Foods program, among others. The IAC also provides a Tribal Land Stewardship internship to college and high school-aged youth.
