EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS 6 ADVANCEMENTS NEW

Brent & Sadie Kolves NEW MEXICO A Refocused Purpose

and I was missing that. Yes, I want to make money. Making money is fun. I like to work hard. I like winning, but there has to be more than that. And so I realized that my new why is to help people live better lives. And through Melaleuca, I’ve been able to do that.” One example of this is how Sadie has been able to help Director 3 Jennifer Sexton. Senior Director 3 Blondina Polazzo, who is in Sadie’s organization, enrolled Jennifer in January of this year. In February, Blondina invited Sadie to meet Jennifer and other Marketing Executives in Blondina’s business. During that meeting, Jennifer told Sadie how the network marketing company she was with had just changed its compensation plan, causing her to lose a large part of her income. Sadie explained that Melaleuca is not a network marketing company but that she could use some of her same skills to build a safe, reliable referral business. As part of that discussion, Sadie encouraged Jennifer not to let her loyalty to the company she had been representing put her into poverty. “I didn’t realize how that affected her,” Sadie explains. “But two days ago she sent me a video thanking me. She said I told her exactly what she needed to hear, and it changed her life. That clearly reminded me of my purpose. And there is no better feeling in the world. There are times in our lives that we get stuck and start to get unhappy. But if we go back to helping others, we can’t lose. We can’t be unhappy. How can you possibly be unhappy when you’re lighting up somebody else’s life? We get to do that all the time here at Melaleuca, and I love it.” With Sadie’s refocused purpose, tireless work ethic, and leadership skills, she is destined for much more happiness as she continues to help people find better lives here at Melaleuca.

One of the greatest things about many Melaleuca Marketing Executives is that no matter how successful they become, their focus is on helping others. This is certainly true of Executive Directors 6 Sadie and Brent Kolves. Sadie has worked hard to build a successful business. And as great as that business is, she admits it’s not her source of happiness. “I can make all the money in the world,” she explains. “I can have the happiest family ever. But sometimes I start to wonder what my purpose is. Because it’s very easy to begin to be unhappy even though you’re doing so well.” Sadie recalls a time recently when she wasn’t as happy as she thought she should have been. She started listening to motivational audiobooks and podcasts as well as live church. During her search for additional happiness, a theme began to emerge. That theme revolved around our purpose being bigger than ourselves . “A lot of times we feel like we’re only worried about ourselves and doing what’s best for us,” Sadie says. “But there comes a time when that’s not enough. That’s because focusing on us is not our purpose. In my opinion, my purpose is to help God’s people. It’s to help other people live a better life. That makes me fulfilled,

“There are times in our lives when we feel stuck,” Sadie says. “When that happens, go back to the basics. Make friends, be a kind person, share the things you love, and enjoy helping people. Do that, and you can’t lose.”
