5 TIPS FOR PACKING LUNCHES! Back-to-School Success
Get creative with sandwiches! Just because sandwiches are a lunchbox classic doesn’t mean they need to be mundane! Instead of bread, swap it out for wraps or use cookie cutters to cut the bread into fun shapes. You can also experiment with a variety of condiments, meats, cheeses, avocado, hummus, and veggies to spice it up — your kid will always be surprised and excited to see what’s for lunch that day. Involve your child. Whether you take your kid along with you to the grocery store or let them take part in the list making, allowing your child to choose what goes in their lunchbox is a great way to help them enjoy their lunch. This sense of ownership helps them feel enthusiastic about the process and learn a little bit about nutrition, too. Embrace homemade snacks. While pre-packaged snacks are convenient, they aren’t always the healthiest as they tend to be loaded with sugar and artificial additives. Instead, opt for homemade alternatives such as granola bars, trail mix, apples and peanut butter, or Nutella crackers. These options are healthier and can be customized specifically for your child. Packing school lunches can be fun and rewarding! By planning ahead, paying attention to nutrition, and involving the kids, my wife and I enjoy the process much more. If you need to, you can even pencil time into your calendar each week to get it done!
It’s been a fabulous summer and back-to- school season is here! My son and daughter — twins — are now in high school and are pros about packing their own lunches. However, as you can imagine, when they were much younger and in their elementary and middle school years, preparing two lunches each morning or the night before was a bit of a circus. As a dad, I understand back-to-school is a time parents look forward to and dread at the same time. Life is busy, and while we always put our kids first, packing lunches is tough to always keep at the very top of the list of priorities. But, with a little planning and creativity, you can create delicious and balanced meals that will excite your children and keep them energized throughout the school day. Here are some tips to help you pack school lunches for your little ones! Plan ahead. Planning sounds tedious but I promise, it helps! Create a weekly menu and shopping list to make sure you have all the ingredients on hand for meal prepping. Preparing in advance not only saves time each morning, but it also helps to ensure your children have a well-balanced meal at school! Include a variety. It’s important to hit all the food groups! A balanced lunch for your kids should include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, protein, and dairy. Also, don’t forget a little snack! Encourage your child to eat a rainbow of colors by making their meal visually appealing.
I hope this helped! Happy back-to-school!

With fall right on our doorsteps, we encourage everyone to never take “falling” too literally! Slip-and-fall accidents happen in the blink of an eye and are extremely common. They can result from tripping on a poorly maintained sidewalk or slipping in spilled milk in the grocery store. While these incidents may sometimes seem minor, they can result in some serious injuries, hefty medical bills, and lost wages — all challenging situations. In the event you or a loved one has a slip-and-fall accident, here are three essential steps to take to protect your rights and seek compensation! 1. Seek medical attention. After a slip-and-fall incident, your health must come first. Even if you aren’t seriously injured or in pain, it’s important to have yourself checked out; some injuries, such as soft tissue damage or internal trauma, don’t exhibit signs until later. Your medical examination will also create helpful documentation for building your case down the road. SLIP-AND-FALL ACC WHAT TO DO AND H SEEK COMPENSATI
Nobody wants to live in a messy home, but staying organized is often easier said than done, especially when you have kids. Spending weekend after weekend cleaning up messes made throughout the week can get exhausting. Thankfully, you can implement some quick organizational hacks that will help you reduce your cleaning time. Make use of Command Strips. Many areas in our homes could better utilize space. Command Strips, or double-sided tape, can add more space and reduce clutter in closets and pantries. Place Command Strips on a desktop file holder and stick it to the inside of your closet or pantry door. This will give you a new area where you can store just about anything that will fit. If you have a standing paper towel holder, another helpful Command Strip hack is to place the strips on the bottom so it doesn’t slide away when you use it. It only takes a couple of seconds to fix. Create a welcoming entryway. When people walk into your house, they need somewhere to hang their coats. After you walk your dog, you need a place to put their leash. Having an area by your door to hang things will help reduce clutter and make your house look nicer. And you can easily create a space for this. Buy a 12–24-inch picture ledge and a handful of hooks. Drill holes, affix the ledge to your wall, and screw the hooks into the bottom of the shelf. Now you have somewhere to hang things and display pictures or art to spruce up your entryway. Free up your kitchen cabinets. If you keep your bowls, plates, and other dishes in a cabinet, how do you have them organized? If you want to make the most of your space, invest in a plate organizer. Placing it in your cabinet will allow you to stack your different types of dishes in one area, freeing up space for other items. Why Lose Weekends Cleaning? Implement These Hacks for a Tidier Home!

How a WWII Cat Survived 3 Ship Sinkings: The Story of Unsinkable Sam
2. Report the slip and fall. If the accident took place on someone else’s property, it’s important to report the slip and fall to the property owner or staff right away. As a general tip, make sure they document the incident in writing and provide you with a copy for your records. This will give you a time stamp of the accident. 3. Gather evidence and contact an attorney. At the scene of your accident, gather as much evidence as possible. Take photos of the hazard that caused you to fall
You’ve heard the saying, “Cats have nine lives,” and while there are countless tales of cats falling from trees or high-above windows, one cat put this theory to the test, earning himself the name “Unsinkable Sam.” Sam’s original name was “Oscar,” and his legacy began aboard the Bismarck, one of the two first-class Nazi battleships in World War II. The Bismarck (with Sam) was launched on Feb. 14, 1939, and soon after engaged in battle with The Prince of Wales, an Allied battleship. The Nazi ship was severely damaged in this battle and ultimately sunk. Only 118 of the 2,200 crew members survived, plus Sam.

The British destroyer HMS Cossack found Sam floating on a board hours later, and they promptly scooped him up and welcomed him aboard. Sam had officially switched sides to the Allied forces. Now on the right side of history, Sam lived with the British crew for the next few months as they performed convoy escort duties — until a torpedo struck the HMS Cossack in October 1941, killing all 139 members aboard. Except for Sam. Once again, Sam clung to a wooden plank and floated safely to the nearby shore of Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory. British service members who found him ashore put two and two together and realized the cat — the very one their fellow servicemen saved in 1939 — was the only survivor of HMS Cossack, earning him the nickname “Unsinkable Sam.” The group in Gibraltar was from the HMS Ark Royal crew, and of course, they loaded Sam aboard when it was time to launch. But as Sam’s luck would have it, a torpedo struck the HMS Ark Royal just a month later, leaving him once again clinging to a floating plank near a boat launch back in Gibraltar. Luckily, Sam’s boating days were over, and he was honorably transferred to the position of “mouse hunter” in the building of the governor-general in Gibraltar. Eventually, the British restationed their favorite floating feline to a “home for sailors” in Belfast, where he lived for the rest of his days until his peaceful passing in 1955.
