Society Concluded individual responsibility. A good example of this is what Judge Noble of Helena, Montana, has done. He has instigated a strict program to curb crime in his area and has done this by applying stiff sentences to those individuals in volved. It has been so effective that felony cases have dropped 49% and traffic cases 79%. We also need to retain positive concepts of what is right and wrong. Along with the positive concepts we need a moral revolu tion in our country. However, a moral revolution demands a spir itual awakening. Our country and our society have made a false assumption that man is naturally good and does wrong things only because of his environment and not be cause of what he is. This type of thinking is not according to the teachings of the Bible. We are re minded of Jeremiah 17:9 which states that, “ the heart is deceit ful above all things, and desper ately wicked: who can know it?” In Romans 3:23 we read that, “ all have sinned and come short of the glory o f God.” There is, however, a possibility of change! In II Corinthians 5 :17, we are told that “ if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away, be hold, all things are become new.” Faith in God through Christ Jesus is the ultimate answer for our “ sick society.” Faith in Christ offers a moral base by which to live. Faith in Christ offers pur pose for living, and faith in Christ offers the means to accomplish change. Our great heritage is that o f a Bible-believing, God-fearing peo ple. This was our source of great strength! It could be again! “ If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (II Chronicles 7:14).

Dept, kq Pageant Press, 101 Fifth Avenue, New York 3 EDITORIAL—Continued sidered negative preaching. We have been conditioned to that diabolical notion that always we must think positively. In the second place, worldliness has crept into so many churches to such an extent that if the minister were to speak out against present worldly and wicked conditions, either he would be run out of the church, or an appreciable number of his constituency would leave and seek a more comfortable atmosphere where his conscience would not be disturbed. But God’s Word standeth sure and as surely as God is in His heaven, there is com ing a day of reckoning when judg ment is going to be pronounced upon a spiritually decadent church. May God help us all to be faithful in this day in which He has allowed us to labor for Him.
