Security/Entry guidelines for the 2024 Philadelphia Marathon Race Days (Saturday & Sunday): Runners will experience strict security measures. On both Saturday and Sunday, the Start/Finish area along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and Eakins Oval will be a secure zone. Entrances: Checkpoint #1 (22nd & BF Parkway, southwest corner) Checkpoint #2 (22nd & BF Parkway, northwest corner) Checkpoint #3 (Pennsylvania Avenue & Spring Garden Street) Checkpoint #4 (24th Street & Park Towne Place) Checkpoint #5 (25th Street & Pennsylvania Avenue, southeast corner) NOTE: After 8:00 a.m., this checkpoint will only allow access into the North Viewing Area. Checkpoint #5-A (25th Street & Kelly Drive, southeast corner). Note: Closed on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 11:30 a.m. Please use checkpoint #6 during this time. Checkpoint #6 (Eastbound Spring Garden Street Bridge Ramp @ Eakins Oval) Checkpoint #9 (west side of 22nd Street, into the east side of Von Colln Memorial Field) • Arrive early so you have time to get through security checkpoint entrances (Opens at 5:00 a.m.). • Runners, event staff/vendors, and emergency personnel will be permitted to enter the secured zones at the start & finish areas. Spectators will not be permitted to enter the secured zone at any entrance prior to 8:00 a.m. (If there are no lines at the checkpoint, security can admit spectators prior to 8:00 a.m.) • To enter the secure running area before 8:00 a.m., athletes will be required to show their race day race bib at the entry checkpoints. • Before entering the security checkpoint, each runner should have their bib visible and fastened to the front of their attire. Security will check race bib to race day event.
