WELCOME H H H
Welcome back, runners! The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) is honored to return for its 8th year as the title partner for the AACR Philadelphia Marathon. Although we’re a global organization with more than 58,000 members in 142 countries, the AACR is headquartered right here in Philadelphia. I’m grateful for the opportunity to partner with the City of Philadelphia to make health and cancer prevention a priority not only for Philadelphians, but for the participants and spectators here this weekend from all over the world. My congratulations go to every runner and volunteer who is participating in the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend. Your commitment to raising awareness and critical funding for cancer research is making a difference—and saving lives. Your miles and donations result in more grants for scientists, more clinical trials, and, ultimately, more cancer cures. I’d especially like to thank the AACR Runners for Research who are participating in this year’s race. Comprised of cancer survivors, caregivers, and anyone who is passionate about defeating cancer, the AACR Runners for Research team is devoted to raising funds for lifesaving cancer research. Thanks to the generosity of caring people like you, the AACR has awarded more than $545 million in grants for scientists to make innovative advancements in cancer research. With your continued dedication, we can achieve even more together. It’s not too late to show your support with a donation to enable the next wave of discoveries to benefit cancer patients and their families. Visit AACR.org/Marathon to contribute today. Thank You, Mitch Stoller Chief Philanthropic Officer and Vice President of Development American Association for Cancer Research
