The Greatest King Is Jesus Christ

moted many false teachings that contribute to present day evils. One is, “If you believe in Jesus, conduct does not matter.” But Jesus said, “If you love Me keep My commandments.” Those commandments are for our own blessings. Another false doc- trine, “Once you are saved, you are always saved.” Again, con- duct does not matter! But when one is saved he becomes the workmanship of God. Many pastors read Ephesians 2 and stop at verse 9: “Not of works lest any man should boast.” But verse 10 goes on to say; “For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Workmanship speaks of the kind of work that a person does. If God enters our life there will be a good change. People will say, “That man has really changed.” It is not by that man’s own power that he is changed. It is the work of God in his life. He does not change his ways in order to be saved. His conduct changes because he is saved . It is the work of God in the life. The teaching that conduct does not matter is a lie from Satan. It completely ignores Jesus as the King of all kings and Lord of all lords. “Now the Spirit speaketh ex- pressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils; speak- ing lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.” (1 Timothy 4:1-2). Friends, life is serious. Our re- ligious faith must lead us to the narrow way in which Jesus is the King and that way leads to an eternity with the King. Oth- erwise it will be the greatest dis- appointment! Keep focused on
After He had finished His part in redemp- tion, Jesus told His disciples this: “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:18-20). In Rev- elation 19:16, He is declared to be “King of kings and Lord of lords.” There is no king or president or leader above Jesus. “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow… and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11). Few leaders carry the thought that there is a Power over them. The Egyptian Pharaoh asked Moses; “who is the Lord that I should obey Him?” He discovered too late who that Lord was, when in the end, he was drowned in the sea in his efforts to bring Israel back to slavery. Today it seems so very few remember that God is sovereign over all the earth. As Sovereign, God decides who will be the leader. Whoever that leader is will have Jesus over him. When a nation becomes intolerably wicked in any way, it will be judged by God in one way or another. Sometimes God raises up a wicked leader because that is what the nation deserves. The many storms and shifting weather patterns, seems to me, is an effort of Almighty God to cause people to consider their ways. But when a large segment of the population does not believe there is a God, you will have a society drifting further and further into wickedness. In spite of all the wickedness in this land, Jesus has a kingdom in this land that He rules as its King. That Kingdom is composed of people who opened their hearts to Jesus. They are gov- erned by the principles that He gave us in His teaching while here on earth. Those teachings are written in the New Testament of the Bible. Many religious people today do not allow themselves to be guided by those principles. They follow the deterioration of morals in the surrounding society and even promote the same. For that reason much of the moral de-
