Before starting his own firm, Martin was CEO of a multi-bil- lion-dollar insurance and annuity company, Integrity Life, where he led the growth of a successful retail annuity business, cutting- edge technology platforms, and innovative product development. He also served as head of the Life and Annuity Industry Group for Channel Point Technology and in several senior executive posi- tions for Capital Holding Corporation (now part of AEGON). Martin is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA). He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Bellarmine Uni- versity and a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Pur- due University. A dedicated community member, Martin has chaired and served on numerous boards for nonprofit and for-profit organi- zations, including Louisville Metro United Way, Jewish Hospital, and the Louisville Jewish Community Center. He is an active An- gel Investor for start-up companies and enjoys mentoring emerg- ing entrepreneurs. Martin is married to his wife, Michele, who he met in first grade. They grew up together through junior high school and were in the same graduating class at Seneca High School in 1968. They married in 1971 and have two adult daughters, Becky and Sara. Martin and Michele have been blessed with four grandchildren: Robert, Molly, Andrew and George. Martin gained an interest in the savings industry through his parents, Bob and Tess Ruby. Both were children of the Great De- pression who instilled a strong work ethic and saving habit in their children. Bob and Tess put an emphasis on preparing for the fu- ture and valuing time spent with family. Martin works to accom- plish these two goals every day in his life, as well.
