Which Path to Travel? I think of it like a highway with two exits. On one exit, I pay a $175,000 toll right now, and then can get to my destination with- out paying anything else. On the other exit, I stop at tollbooth after tollbooth until I’ve paid $492,000 to get to my destination.

When I thought about it like this, it was an easy decision. Why hadn’t this occurred to me before? Because no one had ever quantified my IRA’s tax bill before. But now I know. And now you do, too.
