Personal growth Boarders at AC develop the knowledge, social and life skills necessary for gaining independence and self-awareness in boarding life and beyond.
Examples of activities that support personal growth: • Reflective checklist and passive programming on hygiene, organizational skills, time management and more • Goal-setting and personal success measurements with learning skills focused on responsibility, organization, initiative and self-regulation • Volunteer and service trips have included community clean-up, on-campus gardening, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, peer tutoring • Sexual health, responsible use of technology, self- defence, substance use and abuse workshops
Culture Boarders develop capacities for understanding difference, safely accessing spaces and
collaborating with people from other cultures. Examples of activities that support culture: • Festivals, food and other physical representations of one’s culture • Local and international cultural presentations 5
