BACKGROUNDOPTIONS
Each community color palette under the Social Student Spaces brand follows along the same formula – utilizing one of the brand approved colors, White, and Soft Black. The codes listed here note each of the brand approved colors. Any particular community's color palette can be found on their corresponding style sheet, which should be included in any signage request to third-party designers and signage vendors.
Solid color background is always the most consistent in print quality and poses no issue to the legibility of lots of text. This is the most fool-proof choice, though it does have the least amount of visual interest. When using the solid background option, the base tone of the community's color palette should be used.

SOLID COLOR
Tonal solids add depth and dimension to an otherwise flat design. This is a little more difficult to achieve than a solid, but still offers quite a bit of legibility. To create a tonal solid, the base and dark tones of a brand approved color are applied using a gradient.

With the tonal solid, there is also the option to overlay the background with the Social's pennant pattern, which can and should be given in a vector file when a signage request is made. The pattern should be applied using the base color, and can be adjusted to any opacity setting to fit the needs of the copy's legibility.
