“Before Melaleuca, I never thought of myself as a leader,” she says. “Anyone who knew me prior to joining this company would tell you that I was an introverted wallflower who looked to my husband for everything. Now my husband tells me, ‘You found your calling.’ I’m taking charge in ways I never expected, and that’s so empowering! Now I can help others from a standpoint of strength.” Bessy also loves that Melaleuca allows her to build at a pace that works for her. “I am diligent and careful,” she says. “I never want to lose touch with others on my team. I feel so blessed to be part of an organization that values me for who I am.”
Jackie recently received her first check from Melaleuca, something that brought as much joy to Bessy as it did to Jackie. “She really lives and breathes the Melaleuca Mission Statement of helping others,” Bessy says. “That’s who I want on my team: individuals who want to not only better themselves but also better the world around them.” It’s a mindset that fuels Bessy’s ultimate goal of personal development. Three months ago, she joined Melaleuca believing the company would be a means of acquiring better products and making additional income. Today, Bessy’s Melaleuca business has become much more than that.
At age 40, Bessy’s husband underwent cardiac bypass surgery. Bessy resigned from her nursing position to care for him full time. “I’m so glad I was able to be there for him in his time of need,” she says, “but I also had a desire to continue making money and to maintain my sense of purpose.” When Bessy was introduced to Melaleuca, she knew it was the right opportunity for her. “I ordered a few products and immediately fell in love with them,” she says. “When something is that good, it becomes really easy to share, and potential customers pick up on that genuine enthusiasm.” One of her new Directors, Jackie Warren, shares Bessy’s enthusiasm for Melaleuca.
