Frontier Co-op 2024 Biennial Sustainability Report

INVESTING in RENEWABLE ENERGY

Sustainability relies on regular re-evaluation of the relationship between all entities interacting with and impacting one another. In 2018, Frontier Co-op sought to further improve its relation- ship with the environment by investing in renewable energy. We installed three solar arrays to reduce the Scope II emissions from our Norway, Belle Plaine, and Urbana facilities in Iowa. Since then, our team has annually re-evaluated the policy, pricing, and technology landscape of renew- ables, and continued to modify our investments to meet the growing need of our operations.

Since 2018, our arrays have produced:

NORWAY: 746.76 MWh EQUIVALENT TO REDUCTION OF 578.17 MTCO 2 E BELLE PLAINE: 1.54 GWh EQUIVALENT TO REDUCTION OF 1,192.06 MTCO 2 E URBANA: 617.51 MWh EQUIVALENT TO REDUCTION OF 478.09 MTCO 2 E
