• Produce reports and make recommendations as regards operational strategy and optimisation of the District Network, energy centres, energy efficiency and use of energy and water. • Use specialist software, e.g. eSight Energy Management Software, to undertake detailed analysis and interrogation of energy performance data; working with relevant colleagues, investigate how to develop use of this software to enhance efficiency, data intelligence, and feedback. Team Management • Provide line management for all staff within the Energy and Carbon Compliance team, including objective setting, reviewing and managing performance, and supporting professional development. • Ensure mandatory training modules are completed by all team members • Develop and manage training plan for team staff as appropriate and identified through the PDR process. • Delegate where appropriate. Budget Management • Responsible for multi-million-pound utilities budgets for gas, electricity and water • Responsible for compliance, competent authorities and training budget • Responsibility for management of Energy Services Team pay budget and for forecasting budgets in-line with the planning process. • Delegated authority to sign off invoices on behalf of ULEC Directors where appropriate.

Miscellaneous • Plan, organise and balance work and deadlines effectively.

• Interpret and present complex and specialist information in a clear and concise way, to senior management, ULEC Board of Directors, Sustainability Board members, FRCS colleagues, and others as required. • Develop policy documents and processes for enabling further integration of utility and carbon matters into strategic and other workstreams (e.g. Capital Plan, BIM, Hybrid Working, etc.) • Provide specialist advice on carbon offsetting schemes, developing policy in conjunction with Procurement and other teams as required. • Conduct tours of Energy Centres to staff, students and visitors • Respond to requests for information, including those via Freedom of Information Act. • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of national regulatory and policy changes, returning consultation responses to government bodies and providing senior feedback to management teams. • Frequently liaise with staff, and respond to enquiries, regarding utility and carbon operations. • Develop and maintain an extensive internal and external network; speaking at events and conferences to raise the profile of FRCS, ULEC and the University. • Draw on excellent interpersonal skills to develop partnerships, generate collaboration, support change, and deliver integration of energy, water and carbon strategies/policies/processes with other teams as appropriate. • Maintain ongoing professional and specialist development in relation to the role, undertaking additional training and qualification as appropriate.
