Previous relevant experience in a similar energy and carbon related role Experience managing a team Experience managing a budget Experience of providing advice and recommendations in a senior capacity/to senior management Experience of dealing with statutory compliance bodies and competent authorities Experience with data handling and processing in a utility environment Experience of managing contractors, other professionals and staff and students in the University Knowledge of Building Management System and their use in a complex organisation to save energy Knowledge of Energy Management software systems and the ability to use such for analysis and reporting Up to date knowledge of energy, carbon and relevant environmental legislation and policy Experience of developing and contributing to relevant strategy and policy documents Experience of HE/FE or similar large complex estates such as NHS properties Experience managing an energy/utilities team Experience managing energy/utilities budgets Experience of advising to Board level Experience of carbon and energy reporting and regulatory compliance returns, e.g. UK ETS, CHPQA, ESOS, etc. Experience of District Energy and Heat Networks Knowledge of legislation and policy affecting Public Sector and District Network systems Experience of developing energy surveys Degree in Engineering, Building Services, Energy, Environmental Management, or a related subject. Member of, or working towards, IEMA accreditation Chartered status (or working toward), e.g. CEnv, CEM, etc. Trained in use of BMS and/or energy management software Member of relevant sector or industry networks, e.g. EAUC, AUDE, etc.
