SKILLS, GENERAL AND SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of energy and carbon systems and low/zero carbon energy technology Knowledge and experience of in-depth energy monitoring and detailed carbon accounting across scopes 1 and 2. Excellent presentation/communication skills, especially the ability to translate complex ideas simply to a range of audiences Excellent analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to produce reports (both verbal and written) Strong organisational skills and an ability to plan workload on a number of concurrent projects and deadlines Ability to negotiate across multiple objectives and action plans, and identify deliverables Develop meaningful policy documents related to energy/water/carbon management and the development of departmental and campus wide energy dashboards Understanding of utility charging and invoicing Experience of delivering talks and presentations at external events, conferences, webinars, etc. Comprehensive knowledge of computer packages such as Excel, Word etc. Experience of carbon accounting across scopes 3. Experience of using specialist reporting software to convey/present complex data Accounting skills Knowledge of environmental and energy management systems, e.g. ISO14001, ISO5001. Project management experience Knowledge of relevant sector reporting and benchmarking exercises, e.g. HESA EMR, THE SDG Ranking, etc. Proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team, bringing an enthusiastic and proactive solutions-focused approach Able to work under pressure to meet critical deadlines Excellent interpersonal skills, able to liaise and successfully collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including Professional Services, Academic staff, students, visitors, and partner/sector organisations. Able to use initiative to problem-solve, with diligence and creativity Willing to undertake further training, etc.

Control of Noise You will work in an area where noise has been identified as a potential hazard. A system to control the risks is in place. You may be required to wear hearing protection or to undergo checks on your hearing. Appointment will be subject to Occupational Health screening and clearance must be received before exposure.
