But, at Marist, the designers’ purpose is to enhance life, not to distract from it. Rather than ethereal escapism, the clothes, designed under the philosophy of the new (new) age; take on a new form of glamor, born from utilitarian reasoning and construction. A maxi dress with calculated, almost mathematical, patterning and cut-outs works with technology and projection as a vessel for endless versatility. The fabric choices were highly technical and future-forward: microsuede, double faced crepe, rainproof cotton, mesh, … The silhouettes are billowing and voluminous, like a warm embrace against an uncertain future.
