Serbia’s only competitor in the FIA World Championship. I flew direct- ly to Guangzhou for the first time this October, when travelling to race in Zhuzhou, while I’ve now visited China again for the race in Macau, which is just 90 minutes away from Guangzhou by train. I recall my trip there a few years ago and how it felt as though I’d journeyed to the other side of the world. All because this di- rect flight from our capital city didn’t then exist, only adding to my stress ahead of such a challenging race. Ma- cau is a truly legendary venue in the racing world – famous for its street racing course, which is considered one of the planet’s most dangerous and exciting circuits. With my 31 years of professional experience in auto racing, I can confirm this is in- deed the case. The Macau Grand Prix is held on the demanding Guia Cir- cuit, which traverses the heart of the city, winding through narrow streets,

with sharp curves and tunnels. Here even the slightest mistake can prove decisive, due to the specific nature of the circuit, which combines streets filled with sharp turns and sections where drivers can reach high speeds. Over the years, this race has attract- ed the best drivers from different for- mats – from Formula 1, where leg- ends like Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher took the road to glory,

to many world FIA competitions in which I also compete. I must admit that being in such company is a great privilege. Impressions of Guangzhou My first impression upon arriv- ing was that it is an amazing city, filled with energy and modern build- ings that seemingly tell the story of
