THEFT – GUEST PROPERTY / HOTEL PROPERTY
In any incident of theft:
• Notify your manager or PBX by dialing “0”. • PBX will notify the MOD. • MOD will obtain all necessary information from the guest. Complete a Guest Incident Report Form. • MOD will investigate the incident and report the findings to the GM and the guest • MOD will notify local law enforcement and encourage the guest to file a report. MOD will retain copy of local report. • If loss is from a guestroom or meeting room equipped with electronic locks, a lock interrogation is to be completed. Associates involved and who worked in the area are to be interviewed and statements taken. • When loss is from a guestroom or meeting room associated with a group, the salesperson involved is to be notified. The salesperson and the GM will coordinate notice to the group contact. • An Incident Report should be submitted within 24 hours, to the appropriate insurance carrier based on claim limitations. Atrium Hospitality’s policy is to follow all legal obligations. When completing an Incident Report, never exaggerate. Never accuse or use discriminatory language (age, race, sex, etc.) and don't make judgments about why someone would have stolen or the situation their personal circumstances. Theft or shoplifting are criminal offenses and must be dealt with according to the law.
