Manila Crusade director was Ellsworth Cul ver, who heads the Philippine branch of Orient Crusades. Those who observed this spiritually history-making preaching mission said it was run with all the smoothness and efficiency of a Billy Graham crusade. For Filipinos it was indeed an answer to united prayer.

Catholic and one-time American possession, Filipinos came (over 6,000 a night) to sit under the stars and listen to the claims of Jesus Christ as presented by Evangelist Bob Pierce, Presi dent of World Vision, Inc. And at the close of each service an average of over 200 came for ward to accept Christ as personal Saviour.

Evangelist Pierce preached, with out interpreter. Audiences contained many children and a high percentage of college students.

Nightly crowds of over 6,000 overflowed Manila’s sunken gardens where campaign was held.
