A Taste of Atlanta’s Legacy How Coca-Cola Reflects Atlanta’s Spirit of Resilience and Connection
When you think of Atlanta, a few things come to mind: Southern charm, the Braves, and, of course, Coca-Cola. Coke isn’t just a drink here — it’s a piece of our city’s heart and history, woven into the very fabric of who we are. A recent visit to the World of Coca-Cola made me think about why Coke means so much to our community, law firm, and clients. On my visit, I learned that Coca-Cola’s story begins with humble roots right here in downtown Atlanta. On May 8, 1886, a local pharmacist named Dr. John Pemberton carried a jug of his new syrup to Jacobs’ Pharmacy, where the very first glass of Coke was served. They sold just nine drinks a day that first year — nine! It’s hard to believe a global empire started with something so small. But, like many great things, it began with one simple step, a little bit of grit, and a lot of imagination. One of the coolest parts of Coke’s history is its iconic bottle. Introduced in 1915, the contour design was created to stand out in a sea of imitators. The “Christmas Bottle,” patented on Dec. 25, 1923, added a bit of fun to the story — and that’s the thing about Coke: Even its history has personality. That contour bottle became a symbol of quality and trust. In a way, I see that as a reflection of what I aim to build at my firm — something distinctive, dependable, and always focused on serving people well.
artifacts to advertisements spanning continents, it’s clear Coca-Cola is about more than just beverages; it’s about creating moments that bring people together. The final stop on the tour — the “Taste It!” exhibit — made me laugh out loud as I sampled flavors from around the world. Some were familiar, others … not so much. (Italy’s offering, for some reason, always gets a bad rap, and now I see why!). What stood out to me was the joy of seeing people from different places and backgrounds connected by something as simple as a sip of soda. At my firm, I wanted to carry a little of that Coca-Cola Atlanta magic with me. Every client we serve receives a personalized bottle of Coke, complete with our firm’s name, Kevin Patrick Law. It’s a small gesture that means a lot to me. It’s a nod to the city I love, a reminder of Atlanta’s rich heritage, and a way to show our clients how much we appreciate them. Just like Coca-Cola, our goal is to build connections that last — to serve people in a way that feels personal, thoughtful, and genuine. Atlanta gave the world Coca-Cola, and in return, Coca-Cola gave us a symbol of what makes this city special: a blend of creativity, determination, and good old-fashioned Southern hospitality. This story reminds me of why I’m proud to call this city home and why I’m so passionate about the work I do here.
it’s been on – from a tiny pharmacy in Atlanta to the hands of people across the world. And if you’re ever in my office, you can bet there’s a bottle waiting for you, too (as well as a candy
bar), because here in Atlanta, sharing a Coke means sharing a little piece of home.
Visiting the World of Coca-Cola was like stepping into a treasure trove of stories. From century-old
So, next time you enjoy a Coke, whether from a contour bottle or a can, think about the journey

Turn Daily Chores Into Lessons in Responsibility and Teamwork Chore-Time Reinvented Chores can be an incredible tool for teaching children structure, discipline, and responsibility, all while keeping the home tidy and organized. The real challenge is getting your kids to actually do them. Here’s how to make chore time a positive, structured part of your family’s daily routine. SET THE TONE WITH TIMED TASKS. Kick off chore time with a family-wide alarm each evening. This simple signal is a fun reminder that it’s time to tidy up together. This method helps eliminate having to nag and transforms chore time into a routine team effort, reinforcing the value of responsibility and teamwork. ASSIGN AGE-APPROPRIATE CHORES. Providing children with tasks that match their developmental stage is crucial in promoting independence. Here are some suggestions on how to align chores with age: • Toddlers (ages 2–3) can help with simple tasks like putting toys away and filling the pet’s food dish, which is great for developing early motor skills. • Preschoolers (ages 4–5) can handle slightly more complex jobs, such as making their bed and helping clear the dinner table, which teaches them about daily routines and basic organizational skills. • Elementary kids (ages 6–7) can start taking on responsibilities that affect the whole family, such as setting the table and sorting laundry, helping them understand teamwork and household dynamics. • Older children (ages 8–9) are ready to contribute more significantly by loading the dishwasher and helping prepare simple meals, skills that teach planning and basic cooking. • Preteens and teens (ages 10 and older) can manage most household chores, including laundry and babysitting younger siblings, preparing them for future independence. TRACK CHORES CREATIVELY. Use chore charts, jars, or wheels to track tasks visually, helping kids stay organized. These tools make it easy to see what they’ve accomplished and what they still need to do, adding a layer of accountability and accomplishment to daily chores. Search online for templates and examples to spark your creativity! CONSISTENCY IS KEY. Make chores a non-negotiable part of the day to solidify the routine. Even when enthusiasm wanes, maintaining consistency ensures children understand the importance of daily contributions to family life. Regularly review and adjust chores to keep them age-appropriate and engaging. Integrating fun, structure, and discipline through chores helps keep your home orderly and instills lifelong values in your children, setting the foundation for responsible, well-rounded individuals.
Your Guide to Medical Coverage After an Accident Who Pays the Bills? An accident can turn your world upside down in an instant. Beyond the physical pain and emotional stress, there’s often a mountain of medical bills waiting to add to the chaos. Between ambulance rides, emergency room visits, follow- ups with specialists, and physical therapy, the costs can feel insurmountable. But the good news is that you don’t have to face this alone. Let’s explore your options for managing medical expenses and regaining control. WHO PAYS FOR YOUR MEDICAL BILLS? One of the biggest misconceptions is that the at-fault driver’s insurance will immediately cover your medical bills. In Georgia, that’s not how it works. Instead, your car insurance policy typically steps in first with expenses up to your policy limits. After that, your insurance company will seek reimbursement from the at-fault driver’s insurance. Once your auto coverage runs out, your health insurance may take over. And if the at-fault driver is uninsured? That’s where underinsured/uninsured motorist (UIM) coverage comes into play. This safety net can be a lifesaver and ensures your medical needs are met even in tough situations. WHEN INSURANCE ISN’T AN OPTION For many accident victims, paying for care without draining their savings is the immediate concern. You might feel out of options if you don’t have a car or health insurance. But that’s not true. This is where a Letter of Protection (LOP) can help. With an LOP, your personal injury attorney assures medical providers they’ll be paid from your settlement or court award. This arrangement lets you access the care you need now without worrying about how to pay upfront. It’s a simple yet powerful way to focus on recovery, not financial stress Additionally, a personal injury claim or lawsuit can help you recover the compensation needed for your care. While this process takes time, it’s a crucial step toward financial stability and getting your life back on track. LET US LEAD THE WAY Dealing with medical bills after an accident can feel like an uphill battle, but you’re not in this alone. WHY OWNING YOUR MEDICAL HISTORY MATTERS Transparency Always Wins
HOW A LAWYER TURNS THE TABLES Insurance companies have one goal: to protect their bottom line . When they see a preexisting condition, they often see an opportunity to save money at your expense. That’s where having a skilled personal injury attorney can make all the difference. Your lawyer will gather medical records, consult with experts, and present a clear, undeniable story of how the accident impacted your health. From negotiating with insurers to filing lawsuits if necessary, your lawyer will advocate fiercely for the compensation you deserve. JUSTICE, NO MATTER YOUR PAST When you own your truth and seek the right legal guidance, you can turn what might seem like a disadvantage into a compelling case for fair compensation. With a trusted advocate, you can face the process with confidence and strength.
Transparency turns potential vulnerabilities into opportunities to make your case even stronger.
A HURDLE, NOT A BARRIER A preexisting condition doesn’t disqualify you from seeking justice — it may highlight the impact of your accident. Imagine you’ve been living with a manageable condition, like a bulging disc. Then, a car crash comes along and aggravates it, leaving you in pain and facing costly treatments like physical therapy or even surgery. This worsening of a preexisting condition can and should be included in your claim. Insurance companies, however, love to twist these scenarios. Adjusters might argue your injuries aren’t tied to the accident, using your medical history as an excuse to offer a low settlement — or worse, deny your claim outright. This is where preparation and a knowledgeable attorney come in. Your legal team can clearly document how the accident worsened your condition, making the connection impossible to ignore.
Preexisting conditions are a part of life. Maybe it’s an old sports injury that never fully healed or lingering back pain from years of hard work. Whatever it may be, these conditions should never be a source of fear or shame in your personal injury case. Being upfront about your medical history isn’t just the ethical choice — it’s also the smart one. Honesty builds trust with the court, the insurance company, and your legal team. Trying to hide a past condition can backfire and give the opposing side ammunition to undermine your credibility.

Togetherness Over Romance
Your Guide to a Family-Friendly Valentine’s Day
WRITE LOVE LETTERS. Valentine’s Day is a holiday all about love and romance, making it the perfect time for your family to share what they love about each other. Give your kids and yourself time to write love letters to each family member, writing down what they love about that person and some of their favorite memories. It’s a great way to spread joy and show everyone how loved they are. MAKE SOME SWEET TREATS. Valentine’s Day often includes desserts and candies; your event should be no different. Instead of taking the kids to the store to pick out their favorite chocolate bars or Valentine’s treats, consider baking something special. Make heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast, or bake sugar cookies and allow everyone to decorate their treats with sprinkles and frosting. You can even bake a red velvet cake or another Valentine’s favorite if you feel adventurous. GIVE GIFTS TO EACH OTHER. While Christmas and birthdays are often associated with gift-giving, you can also give your kids and spouse special gifts on Valentine’s Day to brighten their mood and ensure they feel loved. Flowers, stuffed animals, and chocolates are the go-to Valentine’s gifts, but you don’t necessarily have to stick to the script. Your family will be thrilled by any gifts they receive!
Valentine’s Day can be a difficult holiday for many parents. While they’d love to go out for a romantic dinner and enjoy a date night with their spouse, they have to think about the kids, too! Finding a babysitter for Valentine’s Day can be incredibly challenging, so shift gears and spend the day as a family instead of a couple. You can find plenty to do to ensure your Valentine’s Day is fun and exciting for every family member. Here are three activities to try that will help make Valentine’s Day memorable.
