More than 1.3 million of the nearly 85 million U.S. homes (1.6%) were vacant in February 2016, down 9% from September 2015, according to publicly recorded real estate data and post office data collected by ATTOM Data Solutions. But while sharinking inventory of available housing is plaguing many markets, these five markets are still struggling with too many vacant homes.
