My career in public accounting began immediately after graduating from Penn State in 2002. My first position was a staff accountant with a small firm. In 2011, I joined St. Clair CPAs, P.C. and was promoted to Principal in 2017. The accounting profession provides me with a wide range of expertise where I have the opportunity to work with numbers and apply the logic of the various accounting regulations and tax codes, specifically the complicated aspects of the TCJA. In my experience, I have found that real estate developers work closely with our CPA firm to navigate the various tax benefits which enhance their profitability and working capital. Presently, with the new tax law of 2018, pertaining to Opportunity Zones, our firm has created new ways to help with tax savings and strategic planning. There is always something new to learn to help our clients in this industry.

ally curious appraisers. I began as an apprentice under Robert D. Wright, MAI, who introduced me to the profession. As an investor with experi- ence on both sides of the settlement table, Wright offered practical insight and wisdom that can only come with many years of real estate experience. My good fortune continued with supervision from Michael J. Acquaro-Mignogna, MAI, AI-GRS. Mignogna serves the appraisal profession in leadership capacities and provided me with exposure to complex appraisal assignments for a variety of different property types. In the current phase of my career, my intention is to pay forward the graciousness that has been offered to me by these mentors and oth- ers who have positively contributed to my professional development. I have been privileged to able to provide mentorship through my firm’s summer internship program, which I plan to expand in the coming years. What unique qualities and or personality do you feel makes you most successful in your profession? As an appraiser and broker who is also a licensed attorney, I believe that I am uniquely qualified to properly ana- lyze legal circumstances, which affect real property. My legal training is useful in day-to-day appraisal tasks, which include interpreting lease agreements, zoning ordinances, easements and other legal documents. For complex assignments involving highest & best use questions, I feel that my legal training has positioned me well to fully analyze, resolve and effectively communicate conclusions regarding legal permissibility considerations. Drawing from practical experience and a high comfort level in interpreting ordinances, I feel that I am qualified to fully analyze property characteristics in the context of the legal environment. 
