Sheet 1615-1 Page 2

FEATURE:

The 1615 120V models are approved by CSA and UL recognized only. The 220V models carry the CE mark only, which are typically used for export applications. The 1615 is a globally approved product negating the requirement of having to develop and support separate domestic and export solutions.

BENEFIT:

FEATURE:

All 1615 actuators have an externally visible position indicator.

BENEFIT:

Allows users to quickly determine the position of the motor from a distance.

FEATURE:

1615 actuators are fitted with either 135, 220 or 1000 ohm retransmission potentiometers.

BENEFIT:

Allows the actuators to be used in balanced slide wire applications. Provides an accurate feedback of actual actuator shaft position.

FEATURE:

Compact size and weight. The 1615 actuators are approximately 40% lighter than the M640/740/950 products.

BENEFIT:

Simplified mounting, easier handling, less mechanical support is required.

The following is a list of additional features found on 1615-A, B, D, E, F, J, L, and N, 4-20 mA version actuators. These versions have a modulating resolution of approximately 200-250 repositions.

FEATURE:

Modulating accuracy. A series of features contribute to this accuracy, they are: The 4 and 20 mA setpoints can be adjusted (zero and span) allowing for the full use of the entire 4-20 mA range across the selected range of movement. The built in 1000 Ω potentiometer is a resistive plastic (not wire wound) type. The potentiometer makes a 180° movement for a 90° shaft movement providing a 2:1 amplification of the potentiometer feedback signal. The gears in both the actuator and the potentiometer are double offset type insuring little or no play. These features combine to provide a modulating accuracy whereby the actuator produces 225 repositions through 90° of travel. A operation/maximum/minimum (OPE/MIN/MAX) selector switch on the circuit board allows for the internal generation of the maximum (20 mA) and minimum (4 mA) signals. Using this switch allows the 4 and 20 mA end positions to be spanned either in the factory or in the field without requiring that the external input signal be available.

Electronic multi-function circuit board models are available as an alternate to previous mentioned models. The following is a list of additional features found on every 1615- H, K, M, P, S thru Z multiple input/output version actuators. 1615- H, K, M, P, S thru Z versions produce high modulating resolution of approximately 300+ repositions.

FEATURE:

Built in linearization function. The 1615- H, K and M versions have an optional damper linearization function. The curve is based on the typical flow characteristic of the average butterfly valve. The linearization function will enhance modulating accuracy. PID control parameters can be adjusted for much tighter control. The feature compensates the movement of the actuator in response to a modulating step change as a function of the actuators position. This results in a step change in burner capacity not a step change in actuator position. For example; at 80° open the actuator might move 4° in response to a step change. The same step change would result in only a 1° movement if the actuator was at 10°. The 1615- H, K, M, P, S thru Z provide several feed back signals. 4-20 mA, 0-20 mA, 0-10 Vdc feed back signals are stan- dard. The feed back signals can be selected to: provide a signal representing the actual shaft position for slaving or to retransmit (shunt) the incoming signal for parallel operation. Feed back is used by many of today’s advanced controllers. The feed back feature could also be used to control other actuators either in parallel or slave mode.
