The 8598B flowmeter fills an important role in fuel oil flow measurement for combustion systems. It is an extremely versatile instrument usable for #1 through #6 fuel oils. The 8598B is a viscosity and density compensated flowmeter, making it especially suited for use in applications where changing viscosities or densities of the measured media make flow determination difficult. The 8598B offers viscosity independent behavior for fluids in the range of 1-540 cSt (31-2216 SSU). Ordinary float-type flow meters experience measurement errors of up to 1000% with this type of a viscosity change in the medium.
