LIGHTING PORTS

North American lighting ports have a swing-a-way door (not gas tight) that allows access to a chamber. They have a threaded connection for attaching to a burners pilot connection. This allows a torch to be used to manually light a burner. They can also be used to provide temporary access to a chamber for a temperature or gas sampling probe. These ports feature, stainless steel construction, and a locking knob to secure the door. The locking knob can be removed and replaced with a simple bolt to act as a stop for the free swinging door.

BLAST GATE WITH THREADED CONNECTIONS

The R930-4945 blast gate is ideal for use with the 8790-4-A series of observation ports.

A threaded blast gate can be used to protect observation ports from damage due to high radiant hear and temperature condi- tions. The blast gate is installed between the furnace opening and the observation port. It can be opened for the limited time that observation or inspection is required. These blast gates are made from cast iron (maximum temperature = 425 °F/218 °C) and have a 304 stainless steel blade and shaft to handle temperatures up to 1000 °F (357 °C)
