The 8988 Sentry is an innovative solution that is part of the North American family of control systems. Built using proven methods and algorithms utilized in our custom engineered control solutions, the Sentry is dependable, accurate, flexible, and guaranteed to perform upon delivery. Engineered and built by the combustion control experts at Fives North American, the Sentry incorporates functionality that meets your process needs. The Burner Management System (BMS) contains true live signal display, time stamped first out annunciation, assistive prompting, and customizable device descriptions to get your system running quickly. The Combustion Management System (CMS) and Process Control is designed to optimize the heating process for seamless operation with the BMS.
- Electronically linked valves with profile using actuator feed back. - Mass flow ratio control using flow measurements. Includes available air temperature compensation. - Oxygen trim for the above options. • Provides control of entire heating process with up to 2 process control loops driving the burner firing rate. Process loops may be cascaded or used in a low select manner. • Setpoint time profile program available for process controllers, with up to 100 stored profiles. • Additional process control loop which can utilize an analog actuator or reversing drive. Can be used for chamber pressure control or other process control. • Status, data, and control functions can be accessed over an ethernet connection for integration into plant automation systems. • Data available over Siemens S7 and Modbus TCP, and Allen Bradley PLC Ethernet protocols for connection to automation systems

• BMS designed to provide NFPA-86 compliance including main limit interlocking, air proving switch check, pre-ignition purge, burner ignition, and flame detection with safe start check • Additional BMS functions include compliant 1400°F Flame Supervision and/or Purge Bypass and Pilot Relight/Hold. • Graphical touchscreen color interface • Customizable warnings and tags- system can be customized to speak your language, not a preset from the factory. • Range of burner control options available: - For systems with mechanical air/fuel ratio control (regula- tor), modulated air, modulated fuel, or both with staging available.
• System Status web pages for viewing of combustion system status from other locations within the plant network
• Automatic email alerts using plant SMTP server
