Day 1: Arrive Osaka Upon arrival at Kansai Airport, you will be picked up by your driver and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the lively city of Osaka. Hilton Osaka (3 nights) Day 2: Osaka Osaka is one of Japan’s most vibrant cities, you are free to spend your day at leisure checking out more of city. That evening, your guide will introduce you to the splendours of Osaka’s casual cuisine. Venturing into the epicenter of street food culture in Osaka, Dotonbori, where you’ll have the chance to sample a variety of local foods, including the famous and ubiquitous takoyaki and kushikatsu. (BD) Day 3: Osaka Spend the day at leisure or perhaps take an optional, half-day tour. Option 1: Half Day Retro Osaka Tour Your guided tour starts in the Yodoyabashi-Kitahama- Semba area, the centre of the commercial town Osaka. Merchants put their money into state-of-the-art buildings that still look innovative and unique today. Enjoy a pleasant stroll in Nakanoshima, an island on one of Osaka’s many rivers, it is the center of political, business, and cultural facilities in Osaka and still retains a retro feeling. Take a trip back in time to see the development of the city since the Edo era at Osaka Museum of Housing and Living to experience life in Osaka in the 19th Century. Option 2: Half Day Osaka Bay Tour 20 minutes from the centre of Osaka is Tempozan Harbor Village, visit the Osaka Aquarium, one of the biggest and most famous Aquaria in the world. Take a cruise around Osaka bay on the sightseeing boat “Santa Maria”, a double-sized replica of the flagship of Columbus. (B) Day 4: Osaka – Hiroshima & Miyajima Make your own way to Osaka station for your bullet train trip to Hiroshima station. Upon arrival, meet your local guide and embark on a day tour of the city. Your first stop is Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. From Hiroshima, a short ferry ride will take you to Miyajima Island. Here you will find perhaps the most photographed site in Japan – The Floating Torii Gate; designated as one of Japan’s ‘3 Most Beautiful Views’. You will have time to explore the island and its many shrines and temples before heading to your Ryokan. Dinner that night will be served in the kaiseki (multi- course) style. (BD) Iwaso Ryokan

Day 5: Miyajima – Okayama Make your way by ferry and rail to Hiroshima station, board the bullet train heading to Okayama and on arrival, make your own way to your hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to explore at your leisure. (B) Granvia Okayama (3 nights) Day 6: Okayama Enjoy a full-day tour of Okayama Culture Zone with a local guide. First, visit the Korakuen Garden. Before heading to the Yumeji Art Museum. Dedicated to Yumeji Takehisa, one of the leading Japanese artists of the 20th Century. You will then visit Okayama Castle neighbouring the Korakuen Garden, the castle is a modern reconstruction but its inside is devoted to the history of Okayama and the Ikeda feudal family. Your last stop will be Hayashibara Museum, hosting many national treasures and important cultural assets from the samurai era. (B) Day 7: Okayama & Naoshima Island Journey with your guide by local train to Uno Port (30- 50 min) where you will catch the ferry to Naoshima Island. Honmura, a small port town on Naoshima’s eastern coast, is home to the Art House Project a collection of abandoned houses, workshops, a temple and a shrine that have been converted into art installations. The Chichu Art Museum is a unique modern art museum built into a hillside overlooking the southern coast of Naoshima. You will also visit the Benesse House Museum before getting back onto the ferry to Uno and taking the train back to Okayama. The Okayama to Uno rail journey is by local train and does not include seat reservations (B) Day 8: Okayama - Osaka You will spend a day at leisure until your scheduled bullet train ride to Osaka. Upon arrival, make your own way to your hotel. (B) Hilton Osaka Day 9: Depart Osaka You are free to spend time at leisure until your private transfer to the airport. (B)
