HANNA BARBERA COLLECTION

Foreword

The beauty of cartoons is that anything is possible. One minute you can be running away from a terrifying phantom with Scooby-Doo and the gang, and the next you can be tap dancing with Jerry Mouse and the stars of Hollywood. When William Hanna and Joseph Barbera launched their first animated series on American television screens in 1957, they created something truly special. Saturday mornings became a portal for discovering another world, and for the next four decades, children of all ages and backgrounds were brought together through the escapades of their favourite animated characters. In total, Hanna-Barbera Productions, Inc. created over 1,200 hours of original animation for television. At one point, almost two-thirds of all Saturday morning cartoons were produced by the studio, with catchphrases like ‘Zoinks!’, ‘Captain CAAAAVEMAAAAN’ and ‘Yabba-dabba-doo!’ becoming just as recognisable as their speakers. In this rare and desirable collection of limited edition archive art, you will find some of the most iconic scenes in cartoon history. Featuring series such as The Flintstones , Top Cat , Tom and Jerry , Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! and The Yogi Bear Show , our Hanna-Barbera collection has been expertly curated by Clampett Studio Collections, one of the world’s most desirable archives of licensed animation art. Created using specialist fine art techniques – including silkscreen, lithograph and giclée printing – the sought-after titles include hand-painted cels and the first-ever limited edition cels of selected scenes. Alongside the seals of authenticity are signatures from legendary animators like William Hanna, Joseph Barbera, Bob Singer and Iwao Takamoto. With only a handful available worldwide, these collectable artefacts from animation history are a must-have for any cartoon fan, or anyone who remembers what it is like to believe that anything is possible with a little help from friends. “In my opinion, animation will continue to thrive as long as there are children, parents, television, movies and the need to laugh.” – William Hanna
