Hillis, beloved friend of many Biola students, was called Home on April 13 from her home in Los Angeles, California. Always a radiant Christian, Mrs. Hillis, who lived with her two daughters, Joy, ’26, and Mary Hillis, at 1124 La Veta Terrace, Los Angeles, was in especially close touch with students of the Institute during the years that her hus band, the late W . A. Hillis, was a field representative of the Institute. Many Biola friends have cause to praise God, not only for the grace manifested in Mr. and Mrs. Hillis who are now with the Lord, but also for the devotion to Christ of their children and grandchildren whose lives are devoted to His service. Maude Purnell-Mickels, ’24, was injured in a highway accident while on an automo bile trip in Colorado, and on March 15 she went to be “ with Christ.” Mrs. Mickels and her husband, William R. Mickels, had left Los Angeles in February of this year for a business trip to Madrid, Nebr. Mr. Mickels, who is remaining in Madrid for the present, will be grateful for the prayers of members of the Biola family in his be reavement.

As good undershepherds, we must lead the iittle ones into “ green pastures” and “beside the still waters.” We must help them “ as newborn babes [to] desire the sincere milk of the word.” Through meditation on the Word, strength comes. And apart from this soul nourish ment, neither a child nor an adult can be spiritually robust. In this ministry of feed ing the lambs many churches fail utterly. A few years ago, the truth was brought forcibly to my attention that children who are new creatures in Christ Jesus have a love for the Word of God, a holy affection which, if fostered, will grow continually. Marjory and Enid aided my understanding of this matter. These two little girls were members of a Junior Christian Endeavor Society, and each of them accepted Christ as her Saviour. With a large company of other young converts, they formed the habit of reading the Word of God every day. Years passed, and the work of the Lord in another city called their teacher away. It was six years before I saw the girls again. By that time, their younger brother, George, had grown into a talkative Junior, ten years old. He brought out information proudly. LOOKING AHEAD WITH BOYS AND GIRLS (Continued from page 163] had made plain to him the readiness of the Lord Jesus to become liis personal Saviour and Friend!
