Hola Sober SEPTEMBER

Make your own facemask with kitchen- cupboard ingredients

The pandemic took so very much from us but in other ways as were forced to stay at home and beauty salons were considered “non-essential” businesses, we were all forced to go the DIY route for hair and beauty. I have been using box colour for my hair since March 2020 and continue to do so! Do it yourself (DIY) pampering products, including nail kits, body waxing, boxed hair dye, and facial kits became more really popular with online sales flying during the health crisis. . Shaving and hair removal products saw an annual order volume increase of 97% and nail supplies saw an increase of 175% in the USA. YouTube videos and tutorials related to at-home pampering saw increases in viewership, as well as we learnt how to do things for ourselves. I know many ladies rushed to the hair salon the day of opening up for business but I for one, stayed at home and have enjoyed doing home-care-self- care. I am a big advocate of store-cupboard ingredients being used as face masks, hair treatment and swear by a simple jar of vaseline which I use daily. Oil is an effective way to remove makeup, and petroleum jelly is safe to use in the eye area, according to a study on eye ultrasounds. Use a cotton pad or Q-tip (for hard to reach areas), and press gently without tugging too hard on your skin. Make sure to close your eyes as you wipe. Some people also swear by using it on crow’s feet lines.Save split endsSun and wind exposure as well as pool water can dry up your hair. Petroleum jelly can reduce the look of split ends and add shine to your hair. Rub a small amount of jelly between your palms and apply to hair ends. You can also use it for dry noses during cold or allergy season, the uses are endless. It's cheap and effective and has been used for generations. So go on give it a try!
