The Poetry Performance Club Presents November Poetry Collection FIRST PLACE: ANOUSHKA PORWAL - I AM FOREVER IN DEBT
That love to worry That love to stress
I am forever in a debt that I will never be able to repay.
I admire their resilience Resilience to the change we go through as teenagers To the things we take way out of proportion To the high standards we decide we must achieve Or else death
I am indebted to my mother I admire her love
She works and spends money on me Every time she comes home she has something for me She says she is constantly thinking of me I admire her perseverance She raised me when life decided to throw rocks at her Life lit her on fire yet she held me in her hands above it While she burnt below
I am indebted to my friends I admire their maturity
They taught me lessons no one else can do They give me companionship as well as
mentorship I learn a lot And I live a lot more
I admire her drive She takes on new challenges
I am indebted to myself I have taught myself skills that only come with willingness I have learnt to love my own skills I have learnt to accept myself I have learnt to be better for myself To sometimes do things for myself.
She sacrifices for every jump through the obstacle course she must get through She creates a path of hope for those behind her struggling to find their flashlights I am indebted to my teachers I admire their courage to take on a room of children that love to complain
I am forever in a debt that I will never be able to repay.
3 HONORABLE MENTIONS
It’s the time of year for giving! JP Stevens will be giving gift cards to the families of JPS students in need for the holiday season. We are collecting gift cards for Target, Walmart, and ShopRite in the amounts of $10, $25 or $50. Anything is appreciated! If you are interested in providing a gift card, individually or as a group, please bring it to the Counseling Office by Tuesday, December 10th. This is a great opportunity for the JPS family to come together to make someone’s holiday a little brighter. Especially those in our own back yard!
Wishing you a very...
Happy Birthday!
