Your Prayers Needed With the opening of the new term and with the influx of a great number of Students, we are looking forward to extending the work of our shop depart ment, that it might take in new fields, where Christ might be preached also. With this extension, there come new problems and difficulties;, trials and op portunities, which must be met by prayer. May we count on your prayers to help us in this work? If so, drop, a line to this department that we might put you on our prayer list and let you know of specific needs in th is . great field of work. John 9:4. “We must work the works of Him who sent us while it is day; the night cometh when no man can work.” “In "the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.” We praise God for this wonderful promise which encourages us to press on sowing the precious seed. Although we have not seen any one take a definite stand during the past month, yet we are as sured th a t His Word shall not return unto Him void. We are convinced of one thing and th a t is that after the Mexican hears the Word there is a cer tain awakening which causes a spirit of inquiry. God’s Word a t Work For instance, one day while calling from house to house, we c$me to the home of one man who had received tracts from us and perused them. He invited us in and said, “I wish you would explain to me the difference be tween your religion and ours. You know we were brought up in the Roman Catholic faith, and taught to honor and obey our parents even after we are mar ried; not like Americans who when they are sixteen or eighteen years old do as they please. It is not so with us.” SPANISH WORK R. H. BENDER, Supt.

SHOP WORK * M. H. REYNOLDS, Supt.

Visiting the shops, car barns and fac tories, a decided change has been noted in the attitude of the men. During the past month there has come ah awaken- ing on the part of men who have here tofore seemed cold and unresponsive and as the Bible says, “dead in tres passes and sin.” Conducting - shop meetings might seem to some a trivial matter, but to one who has had the ex perience, he knows it has big problems, which are not often easily solved. One of these problems is to reach the cold, indifferent and unresponsive class of men that we usually meet in the shops. Can this change mean that the men have sensed the times and have turned to the Bible for the solution of their problems; or is it an answer to the prayers of God’s people for a mighty revival; or is it just the'outcome of the preaching of God’s Word? Whatever it is, we, as children of God, know that it is all of grace, and so with thankful ness we look up and praise Him for the victory. The Broken Circle After one of the most precious meet ings we have ever had the privilege of holding, a man came and asked for a few minutes’ interview. Stepping aside” with him, he poured into our ears a story of struggling against Christ. His wife had died some seven months before and left him with seven children and in his own words he said, “I want to give my children all the training I can, for we want the circle unbroken in Heav en.” We found him, who a few weeks before had seemed indifferent and un responsive to the call of Him who loved and gave Himself for him, ready to accept Him as a personal Saviour. This is only one of a number who during the past few months have taken their stand for Christ. The field is so white and the laborers so few, that we are constrained to say, “Pray Ye, therefore, and as God has prospered you, GIVE th a t this great work might go on till Jesus comes.”
