be done? The phonograph would not stop and the men talked above the music and so the worker was led to go away, still, wishing an opportunity could have presented itself to talk to that man. To his surprise, quite a while after wards, this man was found in his bed in another part of the ship and ex plained that the other cabin he was in was not his but he was there to hear a new record his friend had bought. The worker got down to real business and found the man very much in need and also very open for the truth. The book made a deep impression, the Spirit pre pared his heart and it was a joy to lead him .to the Lord. Several other men were found under conviction and as their ships have left with them we realize that the Holy Spirit alone must be relied on and prayer is asked for the saving of such especially. M M BIBLE WOMEN’S WORK MRS. LYMAN STEWARD, Supt. In response to a telephone' call for help, the scene th a t greeted a Bible woman was a neglected home, four un tidy children and a disheartened mother with a pitiful story of a husband who had left the city in search of work to keep the little home together. It did not take long to help the woman to see that she had really neglected home, children and husband in an effort to satisfy a restlessness in her life with the “things” of this world. She was led to the Lord Jesus Christ who alone satisfies. When she found Him it did not take long for Him to transform the little home into a heaven on earth. The marvelous change won the husband for the Lord on his unexpected return and a well kept, happy home is a glorifying testimony to the transforming power of the Gospel. • Followed By the Spirit A member of a Bible Class gave the name of an absent, unsaved daughter for p r a y ^ ^ Some months later the daughter came to the city and was brought to the Bible Class. After at tending several times, she left the city apparently untouched, but prayer fol lowed her. Before she was outside the state she wrote back to say th a t s h e ' had tried to get away from the Gospel messages she had heard but was unable to do so. She had, therefore, given her self to the Lord Jesus Christ and was writing back her confession of Him and

her witness to His saving power. She has since returned to the city to live, and is an earnest Christian in humble service for her Lord. Pray Fo r These People A young woman sat musing one day over her past life. " Her birthday was close a t hand and she thought, “Shall I go into another year without the Lord?” and there by herself she decided she would not. That evening she told her husband of her decision and asked him if he would not begin to study the Bible with her. He made some excuses; the print was small, he couldn’t under stand it and so on. In a few days two ladies called at her home and told her there was a Bible Class in. her neigh borhood and asked if she would like to attend. Her heart was rejoiced and we - are looking for great results from her life. How would you like to meet a need like that? The Gospel in a Laundry One noon two employees of a laundry knelt behind an ironing board in prayer and a soul was born' into the kingdom. For more than one, the factory or laun dry has come to be not only a place for the earning of daily bread, but a place of sacred memories because it was there they found the Lord in the little service held weekly during the noon hour or as one of their fellow employees has given them the Word. There are those who never hear the Gospel outside the factory and in each service the workers seek to present the way of salvation clearly and definitely in word and song. In spite of the ridicule always present in some quarter or other, it is not un usual, as the workers go among the girls before the service to speak-a per sonal word to them as they eat their lunch, to find here and there, girls read ing their Bibles as they eat, and often they are waiting to ask the explanation of passages of Scripture th a t they do not understand. One employee became so eager to find some definite work to do for her Lord th a t she asked Him definitely for an opportunity. The 'an swer to this prayer was sent by the sug gestion that she visit the hospitals, and now on Sunday afternoons, with a bag full of fruit and a hand full of tracts, she goes from ward to ward, opening a conversation for the Lord with an apple and closing it with a prayer and a tract o r'a Testament. The employees of the laundry where she works are support ing a leper with their gifts at the noon meetings.
